Mark Cruz will play a fine acoustic concert on Saturday, December 30th, 2017, doors open at 7:00 PM.
Mark Anthony Cruz has been professor of guitar at Texas State University for 18 years.
As a composer, Cruz has been published by many important periodicals and publishers of guitar-focused content while managing his own company, MAC Publications. He was the first prize-winner of the Austin Classical Guitar Society sponsored composition competition in 2006, '07, ’08, ’10 and ‘17. He has received several commissions from large institutions and private artists alike. Mr. Cruz’s Triptych for solo guitar has been performed internationally by guitar virtuoso, Adam Holzman. Such notable artists as the Presti Trio, TxGQ and the Hanser/McClellan Duo have also performed his work in addition to many highschools and universities across the country and abroad.
As a performer, Mr. Cruz was a two-time feature artist with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. He placed 1st in the 2013 Winfield International Fingerstyle Competition. He has been a feature artist and lecturer at many Texas Guitar Festivals. Five of Cruz's CDs have been featured on the internationally syndicated radio program. Classical Guitar Alive. Two of his all-original Cds received positive reviews in the scholarly periodical, Soundboard and has recently released a series of three CDs consisting of original, rock and Christmas titles.

Doors open at 7:00 and the concert is 8:00 to 10:00.
The band suggests an admission donation of $20. Daren suggests folks bump in more if they can in support of music in Austin. The entire donation goes to the musicians.
