The Rosellys
+ Support Rachel Laven

The Rosellys will play a fine acoustic concert on Friday, October 14th, 2016, doors open at 7:00 PM. Introducing the Rosellys, Rachel Laven will play a fine set.

The Rosellys are an Americana band from Bristol recently signed to Clubhouse Records. Simon and Rebecca Rosellys have been part of the UK roots scene for a number of years, their live shows and two duo albums garnering deserved praise from musicians, critics and audiences alike. On September 7th The Rosellys released ‘The Granary Sessions’, their first full band release, taking the band to an exciting new level with an extensive tour in the UK and USA. They performed at several festivals in 2015 including Maverick Festival (where they won the song writing competition in 2010), Truck Festival, Tingestock and Secret Garden Party.

The Rosellys are set to become a major force on the UK roots scene and further afield and with the release of The Granary Sessions their already excellent reputation is set to be enhanced even further. Regular tours to America clearly influence their song writing and live performances with close comparisons made to artists such as Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings to name a few.

"The Granary Sessions is an album of sweet-sounding modern Americana from England"

"A band full of taste and talent, an outfit with a firm grip and grasp of the modern country scene"
-- Music News Nashville

"Rebecca is front and centre... her honeyed tones gently twisting your arm... fantastic fiddle and guitar chops really light a fire under these songs.."
-- R2 Rock n Reel Magazine

"Beautifully subtle and well judged acoustic jaunt through the back lanes and by ways of British Americana...Well worth sourcing a copy of this record - cynical hearts prepare to be melted."
-- Americana UK 9/10

Rachel is a young singer songwriter with an old soul. Though young in her years, this Texas native is known for turning eyes and ears with her smooth voice and her mature songwriting. She has performed nationally and internationally at festivals, theatres, house concerts, and small venues alike. Rachel has a new album out this Summer titled, Love & Luccheses, an 11 song CD, encapturing the last four years of her love life. Make no mistake, however, this album takes on more than romance and heartbreak. Songs from this album helped her to win the 2016 NewFolk Songwriting Competition at Kerrville Folk Festival, and take home third prize at the 2016 Songwriter Serenade. In 2014, Rachel graduated from Trinity University with a B.A. in Theatre, a degree she puts to use each time she walks onstage. Her musical performances, like her acting style have been described as honest, natural, and soulful. Previously, Rachel has released one solo album, and three live albums with her family band, The Lavens, with whom she has won Texas Music Coalition’s “Artist of the Year” and San Antonio Current’s “Best Female Vocalist.”
