Kym Warner will play a fine acoustic concert on Thursday,
September 8th, 2016, doors open at 7:00 PM.
An evening of acoustic music with Kym Warner. This will be an intimate
performance featuring music from his debut album ‘Everything That Brought Me Here’
plus an array of instrumental and vocal music crossing a vast musical landscape.
Multi instrumentalist Rob Lifford will join Kym on a variety of instruments.
A native of Adelaide, South Australia, Kym was introduced to a wide range of
musical styles from his award winning musician father Trev. With a particular
fondness for bluegrass and country music Kym began playing the mandolin at age 14.
In 2001 Kym moved to the US and found himself in Austin in early 2002. Along
with his partner Carol, Kym formed The Greencards in 2003 and toured and
recorded with the group until 2015 when the band decided to take a hiatus
from the road. The Greencards received 3 GRAMMY nominations, won the Americana
award for best new artist in 2005, performed a 32 date summer tour with
Bob Dylan as well as graced the most prestigious festival stages throughout
the US, Europe and Australia.
Kym has been touring as a part of Robert Earl Keen’s band since
April 2015 having played mandolin on Robert’s 'Happy Prisoner, The Bluegrass Sessions’
album. In 2015 Kym released his debut solo album “Everything That Brought Me Here’,
an all instrumental album which Kym recorded and produced himself playing an array
of acoustic instruments.
