Drummer, Stephen Bidwell was born in Washington, DC and grew up in the suburb of Reston, Virginia. Somwhere between childhood and the present day, he studied classical percussion, traditional African drumming, jazz, and earned three college degrees in the field. He has lived and performed with top players in West Virginia, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, New York City, and now makes his home in Austin, Texas where he co-leads the post-rock band The Calm Blue Sea and the afrofunk juggernaut Hard Proof.

Gutarist, Bruce Saunders graduated from the University of North Texas in 1986 after playing, recording and touring with the One O'clock Lab Band and immediately moved to New York city. While in New York he played and recorded with many notable jazz icons including: Jack DeJohnette, Dave Holland, Peter Erskine, Kenny Werner, Dave Binney, Ben Monder, Bill Stewart, Scott Colley, Harvie S, Tim Lefevbre, Tony Scherr, Bill McHenry, Bobby Previte and many, many more. He moved to Austin in 2006. He has been on the faculty of Berklee College of Music since 1993 and also teaches courses for Berklee Online. He has authored 6 books for Mel Bay. Recent recordings are a quintet with longtime musical partners Mark Ferber, Adam Kolker, Gary Versace (piano) and John Hebert and an organ trio with Gary Versace (organ) and Mark Ferber. He has 7 CDs as a leader and has appeared on many more.

Saxophonist, Keyboardist, and Composer, Brian Donohoe was born in raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and has been playing music since he was a toddler. After working as a pianist, bassist, and saxophonist since his teenage years, he still can't decide which instrument he likes best. He attended the University of North Texas' jazz program before touring the country with Snarky Puppy, and now resides in Austin leading his own band, Progress, and performing happily with many other gifted musicians on the verdant Texas scene.

Aaron Allen is a bassist and composer from Austin, Texas. He has performed extensively in the central Texas area as a sideman and leader. He has also performed at the 55 Bar in New York City, The David Lynch Festival, the One World Theatre in Austin, and on PBS. He performs regularly with Dr. James Polk, Pamela Hart, Armin Marmolejo, Bob Hoffnar, Chris Vestre, Nori, Liz Morphis, and Jacob Wise. Aaron Allen holds a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
