Ulrich Ellison was born and raised in Graz, Austria, though his ancestral roots go back to Ireland. After paying his dues in the rich Viennese music scene, a prestigious jazz scholarship enables him to settle in one of America’s musical hot spots – Austin TX. While working at his MM at UT’s jazz department he won three of the acclaimed Downbeat student awards. The diversity of the local scene ranging from blues, salsa, rock, indie to singer/songwriter turns out to be the perfect playground for developing a unique personal style. Ellison’s music is based in the blues rock tradition, with psychedelic and celtic elements. So far he has released three albums under his own name. His band, the “Ulrich Ellison Trio” has been on two European Tours. He has been a featured soloist of the Austin Pink Floyd show “Guess Who’s Pink” and the Austin Pops Orchestra. His sideman credits include Texas blues man Preacher Keen, soul singer Nakia and grammy-nominated songstress Abra Moore.

Sabine Ellison

"Sabine Ellison - excellent bass woman"
-- Kurt Mittler

"She can play"
-- Alan Haynes

Born and raised in Austria, Sabine Ellison wasn't surrounded by a very artist-friendly environment but somehow always wanted to paint, play music and be creative. After graduation and a couple of years in the office working business Sabine Ellison made a clear decision to move to Vienna in order to study jazz bass. Soon she became a very active member of the Austrian blues scene, giving her talent to various blues, ska, rock and rock'n'roll projects, as well as musical and theatre projects. Other acts include Courtney Jones & The Funky Calypso Band, Rev. Frank T.T., and Hannes Bartolot. In 2004 Sabine co-founded with Chris Curtis the surf'n'roll band Bloo VooDoo. They sucessfully toured and played all over Europe. In August 2007, she relocated to Austin, TX where she is keeping a busy schedule working with Moving Blues, Ulrich Ellison and playing around Austin with different bands as a session player.

John Nelson
The neighborhoods of East Flatbush and West Harlem in New York City provided the musical backdrop for John at an early age. By age 10, John began playing drums in African drum and dance ensembles while studying at Babatunde Olatunji's Center for African Culture in Harlem. Performing in school bands later and singing with church choirs John developed a solid musical foundation, won awards and gained noteriety. Later, el john's studies came to include tutelage with drum set luminaries Alan Nelson a nd Anthony Williams. In 1986 he began his professional career performing and recording as a session player in Honolulu, Hawaii. He has worked with many artists since, among them Thievery Corporation, Poi Dog Pondering, Victor Krummenacher, Federico Aubele, Penelope Houston, and Benny Rietveld.

Well developed skills as a conguero/ bongosero in the finest Afro-Cuban traditions as well as solid skills as a trap drummer distinguish John as a truly versatile and well rounded percussionist.

John began working with Thievery Corporation in 1999 as a touring drummer, eventually appearing on the 2002 release, Richest Man In Babylon and 2008's Radio Retaliation. The progressive DJ styles of Rob Garza and Eric Hilton inspired John to explore electronic production and DJ-ing on his own. el john Selector has established a loyal following and an addictive new realm for musical exploration in the art of spinning and remixing records.

C. Winton Reynolds has been part of the San Francisco and Austin music scenes for 25 years. Winton began studying piano as a young boy while living in bRio de Janeiro, Brazil.
