Ham Jam House Concert

Trio Del Rio
04/14/2012

Trio Del Rio will play a fine acoustic concert on Saturday, April 14th, at 7:00 PM.

Trio Del Rio challenges classification, combining swing, jazz, blue, latin, R&B and Texas styles of musical composition featuring: local singer/songwriters, MariLisa, Tanner Swain, and bassist extraordinaire, George Brown-Lohr.

Trio Del Rio’s essence is captured in MariLisa’s soulful distinctive voice, Tanner Swain’s smooth vocals and tasty guitar work, along with George Brown Lohr's ability to blend the rhythm with the melody on the bass. Their songs unite with rich textures and vocal landscapes that are unforgettable with a wide variety of storytelling songs that listeners are attracted to. Other tunes inspire folks to shake a leg and frequently the trio employs a drummer that can provoke lots of dancing. With the two part harmonies and tight unisons; it balances an eclectic mix of songs and emotions.

Trio Del Rio has recorded one CD, “This Time Around It”, and an EP titled “Rain” and they are currently working on another project not yet titled.

The players...

Tanner Swain is a University of North Texas Graduate in music composition who his mother says was “making up songs in his crib.” Singing and performing in numerous choirs, ensembles at UNT, and countless other venues, his immense knowledge of music is second nature. His songs pull the listener in from off the street.

MariLisa, a children's and adult musician published three solo albums before taking vocal coaching from MaryAnn Price when late great Texas Music Producer, Tary Owens decided to produce MariLisa’s 2002 CD “Take a Chance”.

MariLisa and Tanner met during a songwriter circle in Austin Tx in 1998. They are a married couple who have been making/performing beautiful music together ever since.

Bassist, George Brown Lohr at age 18 was just moving back to Austin at that time and had discovered the CD at him mom’s house and started learning all the material. He has been contributing keen moving rhythm and has continued to keep the band grooving with or without the drums to this day. George is also currently involved with the ACC Jazz Band and with his versatility in playing numerous basses such as the upright, fretless or five string Jazz bass, he is able to bring out the necessary tones for the band's diverse genres.
